Traveling first time to USA, what to bring ?
1) Bug spray for the dirty guest house you will be sent to.
2) Rice that has no bugs or weevils--the food from the Desi Consultancy makes you sick
3) Its good to have one Suit
4) Formal Shoes
5) IDP [international Driving Permit]
6) Find out about location wheather & public transports.
7) How to make Collect calls or handle panic situation when landing for the first time at the airport.
8) Bring your and your dependents' birth certificate - necessary for Green Crad processing.
9) This might seem silly, but a good deodarant, cologne/perfume (recently some comdeians have made fun of us Indians saying - not the feather ones but the smelly ones, before this they used to call us the Indians with dots)
10)If you are coming to a school, get the names, addresses and phone numbers of people you are supposed to meet at the airport
11)For cooking purposes, bring a cooker and utensils of Flat bottom, because here the stoves are electric.
12)Also, in US, all the electric sockets are with 110 V input, whereas in our country it is around 220 V. So, most of the electric items like electric cooker/mixie will not work (or will perform poor). There are some shops in our cities, who sell these items with 110 V input capacity. Try to bring such equipments or try to get a converter. Also, bring some universal electric socket converters for handy use.
13)Get some antibiotics that you are used to have when you fall sick. Because you would not like to pay 60 $ fee for doctor to just get the prescription. Here no pharmacy will give you antibiotics without prescription.

15.you can also take some old photos of your family members..just to relive your days at home sweet home!
16) India to US convertor plug if u r bringing laptop or any other electronic thing with you. You can buy it in US for 3 to 5 dollars on frys.com also.
17) If u bring cellphone from India, always take AT and T prepaid card or AT and T plan. It gives rollover minutes. Never take Verizone. Take AT and T.
